Primrose organics: a model of sustainability - audio-slideshow
“When we stay at the values level (no child should suffer from hunger, animals should be treated humanely, and we shouldn’t waste tax-payer money on profitable operations if they can get by on their own when have other needs), the food movement is united. When we get in our issue silos, we find it harder to work together, harder to communicate, and so-forth.”

nice presentation and sexy idea, but it makes me think:
- Who has done this before?
- Who would have access to the produce?
- How would the building/business impact the area that it exists in?
- How resource intensive is it? (planning, building, operating)
- Does it empower the workers?
hydroponics is very interesting and it definitely has its place in an improved food system, but i can’t help feeling a bit turned off by the scale of this project and the mechanization of the process.
